All the Answers You Need

Here are some frequently asked questions that I tend to receive. If you still have something you’d like to know, feel free to contact me for more details and I will do my best to help you get all the information you need.

Forest Road

Do you offer couples counseling/family counseling?

No, while I may meet with you and your partner/family member on an occasion, but I am not trained in couples counseling or family counseling. Some of my work does involve components of Family Systems theory but our sessions will not typically include anyone else..

How long does this take?

That depends on you. You get what you put into your counseling. It also depends on what you are coming to me to work on. If there is more trauma to work through, it may take longer and that is perfectly okay. The time can also depend on goals, and the type of counseling you are looking for. Some take less time than others.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Are you doing in-person sessions?

No, at this time, I am only doing telehealth.

What can I expect from my first session?

The first session is called an Intake or an Initial Assessment. When you sign up via the portal, you will have paperwork to read and sign available electronically before the first session. Previous to the Intake, you will get an email with a link for the session.  Once in the session, we will meet for 60-90 minutes where we will talk about your goals, support system, overall health, and the paperwork that was filled out.

What if I need immediate help/am in crisis?

Some examples of a crisis would be imminent suicidal thoughts/plan, imminent homicidal thoughts, severely losing emotional control among others.
